Job Summary:

The Store Keeper is responsible for maintaining accurate records of all incoming and outgoing goods, ensuring proper stock arrangement, and safeguarding store materials against loss, theft, or damage. The role requires close attention to detail, good organizational skills, and coordination with sales, procurement, and replenishment teams to ensure steady product availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Inventory Management
    • Receive, inspect, and record all incoming goods and materials. 
    • Regularly update stock records using the store’s inventory management system.
    • Conduct periodic stock counts (daily, weekly, and monthly).
    • Identify and report stock discrepancies or damages immediately.
  2. Stock Arrangement and Control
    • Arrange items in an orderly and accessible manner according to product category.
    • Label and tag all goods for easy identification.
    • Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
    • Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) system is strictly followed for product movement.
  3. Issuance and Documentation
    • Issue goods to sales, production, or dispatch departments as approved.
    • Maintain accurate and updated records of all materials issued or returned.
    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
    • Track all goods dispatched to customers and ensure records tally with sales documents.
  4. Safety, Cleanliness, and Compliance
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized store environment.
    • Ensure that storage conditions meet safety and product preservation standards.
    • Adhere to company policies and procedures for inventory control and documentation.
  5. Coordination and Communication
    • Work closely with Procurement, Sales, and Replenishment Officers to forecast stock needs.
    • Report promptly on low-stock or fast-moving items.
    • Participate in internal audits and stock reconciliations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of OND or equivalent in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
  • Experience as a Store Keeper, preferably in retail would be a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic inventory software.
  • Excellent record-keeping and organizational skills.
  • Integrity, honesty, and strong sense of responsibility.

  • Accuracy of stock records.
  • Level of stock losses or discrepancies.
  • Timeliness of inventory reporting.
  • Store cleanliness and organization.
  • Compliance with FIFO and safety standards.
